Kenneth, who calls himself “K,” dreams of becoming a grime MC and has already dropped a debut mixtape, Feel The Pain, though no one has bought a copy. He works at a local supermarket, Laimsbury’s, to help cover his family’s rent, and a harsh insult from his boss about his rap ambitions pushes him to quit. His mother’s mounting anxiety as bailiffs close in on their home adds urgency to every bad day, tightening the noose around the family’s finances and testing their resilience.

Unable to bear watching his mother get harassed by the threat of eviction, Enrique enters Kenneth’s life as a friend and a new ally. Together, they hatch a risky plan: they start selling illegal drugs with Kenneth’s crew—Bookie, Lesoi, and TJ. What begins as a desperate bid to keep a roof over their heads soon embroils them in the dangerous underworld of the neighborhood.

Their trouble deepens when the local hard man, Tyrone, gets wind of their operation and swoops in to seize Kenneth’s and his friends’ accessories. The loss stings, and the group’s cohesion frays as fear and mistrust spread. With support from his family dwindling and the stakes rising, Kenneth makes a reckless choice: he sneaks into Tyrone’s apartment to retrieve everything they lost, hoping to restore some sense of control.

Inside Tyrone’s space, the tension erupts. Tyrone is in another room with his baby’s mother, and Kenneth’s intrusion coincides with Tyrone’s infidelity being exposed; Kenneth seizes the opportunity to snatch back their loot and alert Tyrone’s baby’s mother to the affair. She catches Tyrone in the act, and the scene escalates quickly. When Tyrone discovers the breach, he pursues Kenneth, turning a warehouse of petty theft into a one-on-one confrontation.

The confrontation ends up being a humbling blow to Tyrone, as his boss arrives and witnesses Tyrone striking at youths, leading to Tyrone’s dismissal and a public humiliation within the hood. The trouble doesn’t stop there—Tyrone’s baby’s mother’s brother appears, adding another layer of pressure and forcing Tyrone to retreat in disgrace.

In the wake of these events, Kenneth receives a tempting offer—a potential record deal. Yet, the path he chooses is to return to his job at Laimsbury’s and continue contributing to his family’s stability. The story closes on a note of hard-won pragmatism: the dream remains alive, but the immediate priority is steady employment and keeping the family afloat despite the odds.
