Set against the harsh reality of Malaysia’s lower‑class neighborhoods, Hisham, a drug dealer, is arrested and forced to give his infant son to a homeless woman, Mariam. She raises the boy—named Indraputra—in a cramped squatter area with neighbors Bu Leha and friend Johanna. The family moves to Kuala Lumpur seeking a better future, but the children grow up as street‑wise youths, forging strong bonds despite poverty and hardship.

The film opens with Rosyam Nor as Hisham, a wanted criminal, who in a frantic bid to save his son pleads with Mariam, a mentally ill woman living in a hallway, to adopt the boy. After a violent shootout, Hisham is captured by the police. Mariam raises the child and names him Inderaputera, the boy later depicted as Inderaputera, played by Farid Kamil. They live in the slums, near Bu Leha and her daughter Johanna, a tomboy who secretly loves Putera. Putera grows miserable under Mariam’s care, and his mood shifts only when authorities separate him from her.
Putera is then raised by Bu Leha, who moves with Jo and her daughter to Kuala Lumpur in the hope of better lives. They become homeless youths, with Putera working in a garage while Jo and her mother sell fruits at Chow Kit Market. Erzan and Milya are among their close friends, and they all make a living hawking burgers. Two other figures, Danial and Shah, navigate the city’s harsh, bitter realities alongside them.
Amira Atikah, a teenage girl tangled in drugs, enters their world and gives the group a glimpse of love and a softer side they hadn’t understood before. Erzan faces uncertainty as Tajul’s debt bears down on the family, and he is pulled into Tajul’s drug-running world to repay what is owed. Putera grows angrier at Erzan’s actions as trouble mounts. Tajul learns that items Ijam had distributed were taken, and he hunts Ijam and Erzan; Ijam is killed. Tajul then demands all available drugs from Erzan.
One day, Erzan returns the drugs but is shot dead by Jeff and Lut. Putera and Shah give chase but fail to stop them. The death of Amira Atikah from drug abuse deepens Putera’s resolve to seek revenge on Tajul and his circle. The conflict escalates as Jeff is stabbed by Milya, and Putera presses forward toward Tajul’s residence. Hisham, recently released from prison, re-enters the fray and pushes Tajul to spend what he has started. Tajul captures Putera, but Johanna ends him with a shot. After reuniting with his father Hisham and his adoptive mother Mariam, a tragic moment unfolds when Putera shoots his own father. Fleeing, Putera, Mariam, and their friends are pursued by Lut and others and ultimately end up imprisoned by the police.
