His father, Pavan Malhotra, is India’s foremost rocket scientist and the director of Bharat Rocket Centre, a place that should be a model of discipline but often feels like Bose’s playground. The contrast between Bose’s carefree spirit and the formidable world of rockets around him sets the stage for the events to come.

Despite his charming mischief, Bose’s younger brother is a class 12 topper in the country, showcasing a sharp difference in their paths. To keep him occupied after he’s pulled from school, his mother arranges a job for Bose in the Rocket Centre canteen, hoping routine work might lend him some structure and purpose.

The Bharat Rocket Centre plans a grand Independence Day celebration, aiming to inaugurate a new initiative—the Space Tech School—where the brightest students meet some of the country’s top scientists for guest lectures and demonstrations. The mood is celebratory and aspirational, a public display of progress and national pride meant to inspire the next generation.

But beneath the festive surface, danger brews. ISI operatives befriend Bose and recruit him as an unwitting courier to transport their RDX into the heart of the centre, exploiting his trust and naivety. As the day of the event arrives, the atmosphere shifts from triumph to peril, and the planned gathering becomes a trap.

On Independence Day, the center is packed with scientists and students, all unaware of the lethal plan unfolding around them. A security man colludes with the conspirators and locks the doors, sealing off a doomed chamber as the bomb—planted by the ISI—counts down. With time running out and few viable escape routes, the situation grows increasingly dire, forcing everyone to confront the possibility of catastrophic loss.

Saraswati, Suhasini Maniratnam, Bose’s mother, faces a heart-wrenching dilemma as she contemplates every option to safeguard the lives around her. Bose makes the ultimate sacrifice, choosing a path that would mark him as a hero—one that demands personal loss for the lives of many. In the aftermath, Razia, Sriya Reddy, reveals that Bose was aware of the danger and the plot, yet his commitment to protect his people drives his selfless act. The revelation adds a painful layer to the tragedy, leaving everyone present heartbroken, including Razia.
