What Is Alex Is Lovesick About?
The premise of Alex Is Lovesick without spoilers.
A milestone of Israeli cinema, it authentically captures 1950s Israel through 13‑year‑old Alex's eyes. His mother is a Polish immigrant, his friends are street‑wise boys dreaming of romance, and his teacher is a Russian exile. Dialogue mixes Polish, Russian and Farsi slang that entered everyday speech, while the soundtrack uses only American music.
