As the curtain rises, we are thrust into a poignant moment: Alex, played by Jason Ritter, once full of life, now feels adrift and isolated in his childhood home. The atmosphere is thick with silence as he mechanically goes through the motions of getting ready, ultimately succumbing to his inner turmoil as he steps into the bathtub, its tranquil surface starkly contrasting with the chaos within. In a moment of desperation, Alex sends out a tweet, reaching out for help from his college friend Ben, portrayed by Nate Parker, only to be met with a void of silence. Faced with the crushing weight of solitude, Alex makes a heart-wrenching choice, submerging his phone into the water and giving in to the darkness that envelops him.
