What Is Ako About?

A day follows 16‑year‑old Ako, a Japanese teen who wakes in her dorm, gets ready, and heads to a busy bakery for her part‑time shift, juggling schoolwork. Between work she laughs and chats with friends, then the seven of them cram into an old Pontiac to bowl, visit an amusement park, and drive around, until a car breakdown puts Ako in danger.
