Overall, AKA delivers a competent but uneven experience that sits between solid genre entertainment and a derivative thriller. Critics acknowledge the film's effective choreography and moody visuals, yet repeatedly note its reliance on familiar tropes and limited narrative depth. User feedback mirrors this split, with some praising the gritty action and style while others criticize the confusing plot and lack of character development. The resulting impression is a modestly engaging action piece that falls short of standing out in its category.

Adam Franco is an Action Division operative and former Legionnaire working for a French Intelligence official known as Kruger. After infiltrating a terrorist cell in Libya to take out a captured reporter, Franco receives a new assignment from Kruger, directed by the influential Sénateur Marconnet, to locate and eliminate a South Sudanese warlord named Moktar Al Tayeb, who stands as the prime suspect behind a bombing in a Paris hotel.

To get closer to his target, Franco infiltrates the Pastore crime syndicate and earns the trust of its gangster boss, Victor Pastore. Victor’s business ties reach back to Moktar Al Tayeb, creating a web of connections that Franco uses to his advantage. Franco proves his worth by matching Victor in street-to-street confrontations with a rival gang led by an Egyptian figure named Amet, and he forges a budding friendship with Pee Wee, a fellow gangster who is believed to be connected to Al Tayeb. In a surprising turn, Franco also forms a difficult, protective bond with Victor’s stepson, Jonathan, as they navigate a dangerous underworld together.

The tension intensifies at a birthday party for Jonathan, when Pee Wee summons Franco for a bank heist that Victor orchestrates. The escape goes awry, and a fierce shoot-out erupts in the streets, leaving Victor furious with the sense that there is a mole in his operation. Franco learns the truth: the mole is Natalya, Victor’s wife, and he warns her that exposure is only a matter of time.

As Franco tries to keep Jonathan safe, he takes the family drama to the zoo with his sister Hélène, but tragedy strikes when Jonathan is kidnapped by Amet’s gang. Victor’s stance hardens, and Natalya pleads for a ransom, only to be refused by Victor. In the meantime, Franco, guided by the bolstering presence of Pee Wee and with help from Cisko, tracks a safe-house that may hide Al Tayeb. When he learns of the kidnapping, Franco infiltrates Amet’s gang compound, fights his way through, rescues Jonathan, and kills Amet — though he pays a heavy price, taking serious wounds in the process.

In Franco’s absence, Cisko encounters Al Tayeb and confronts him, only to fall to Pee Wee. The investigation escalates when Franco reviews security footage after a shop alarm tip-off and is briefly detained by police, claiming undercover status with his badge number. The encounter is observed by Youssef, a lieutenant in Victor’s circle, who realizes Franco is the mole. Mona, Mona, Cisko’s partner keeping watch over the operation, interrupts the countdown by taking out several of Victor’s men, but she pays with her life as a shotgun blast ends her story.

With time running short, Franco presses on and finds Pee Wee and Moktar Al Tayeb in a makeshift hospital. Al Tayeb reveals a devastating truth: he has been framed by the French government, brought to France under false pretenses to discuss Sudanese politics, and subjected to an assassination attempt that claimed his wife and grievously injured his daughter. The elder statesman explains that his charitable funding has been aimed at his daughter’s medical care, not terrorism, and that his past ties to Sénateur Marconnet have been used to smother the truth.

As the mission widens, Kruger orders two elite commando units to eliminate Al Tayeb, Victor, and everyone connected to the operation, under the command of the senator. The hospital becomes a battleground as the commandos brutally murder Al Tayeb, prompting Franco and Pee Wee to fight back and escape with Al Tayeb’s daughter. Kruger intensifies the hunt, seeking to wipe out Victor and his associates, and even targets Victor’s children, only to be stopped at the last moment by Franco, who arrives just in time to end Kruger’s threat and reunite with Hélène and Jonathan.

In the aftermath, Pee Wee and Franco reveal Sénateur Marconnet’s hidden connections to Al Tayeb, surfacing as a front-page scandal. The truth unsettles the political landscape and redefines the lines between loyalty, espionage, and justice, ending with Franco’s hard-won resolve and a sense of uneasy peace between shadowy operatives and the public eye.
