Karthik Jai Sampath falls in love with Janani Vijayalakshmi Agathiyan. Their connection starts as a shy, budding affection, and despite Janani’s initial reluctance, she eventually opens her heart to his feelings. Once she gives her approval, Karthik follows his father’s wishes and travels to Australia to pursue his education, hoping to build a future they can share.

Back home, Janani’s parents make a pragmatic arrangement, choosing a groom named Siva for her, believing he offers a better life—wealth and handsomeness that could secure her prosperity. This shift creates a quiet tension: Janani feels torn between her love for Karthik and the social expectation that a richer match might ensure a more comfortable life. She agrees to the marriage with Siva, hoping the choice will bring security even as her heart remains touched by Karthik.

While Karthik is away, a chance encounter on his return becomes the turning point of the story. He meets a man, and the two quickly become friends. In a candid conversation, Karthik recounts his heartbreak—the betrayal of a lover who left him for someone “better.” The man offers a troubling counsel, insisting that revenge is the surest way to prove a point and teach his former beloved a painful lesson. He urges Karthik to lash out and ruin Janani’s life, a suggestion that Karthik initially resists but eventually considers.

The film then unveils a shocking twist: the man Karthik had befriended is actually Siva, the very groom Janani has agreed to marry. Siva has been both an obstacle and a facilitator in their love’s path, shaping events in ways neither could have anticipated. This revelation reframes the narrative, exposing a hidden weave of schemes, loyalties, and unintended consequences that have drawn Karthik and Janani toward a perilous precipice.

In the climactic sequence, the strain between desire, betrayal, and fear erupts.
