In Naples, thirty-year-old Ciro [Ciro Priello] is a graphic designer who also chops numbers at a small Chinese fry shop to pay the bills. After countless attempts to land a solid gig, he dives into a quirky contest suggested by his nerdy friend Fabio Balsamo and, in a wild twist, fires off his resume “into space” as part of a promo for a new AFMV action-sci‑fi film featuring Lieutenant Ruzzo Simone Russo. Ciro’s long‑time crush, Matilda Beatrice Arnera, who has dreams of London, urges him to come along, but he remains hesitant. Yet fate has other plans: his resume ends up in the hands of extraterrestrials, and their enigmatic leader Brandon invites him to an interview.
The encounter changes everything. Ciro is hired to design the alien company’s logo, entering a realm that operates on a ruthless meritocracy where talent is finally recognized. The job seems to be a dream realized, a clear badge of proof that his work matters—even if it’s for beings from beyond. As time passes, Brandon shows Ciro how the logo will be applied to a colossal cannon, and the stakes suddenly become terrifying: Earth is doomed to be destroyed. The debt the humans owe for tapping solar power is beyond repayment, and Earth stands condemned. The revelation hits hard, yet Ciro refuses to abandon hope.
Determined to save his world, Ciro steals a dematerializer and returns from Dimension X to Earth, a desperate move that sets in motion a race against time. He enlists the help of his reluctant ally Fabio and the steadfast Matilda, and together they plot a bold assault on the alien spaceship with nothing but toy guns and sheer nerve. A quiet confession seals their bond: Ciro tells Matilda he loves her, and they share a kiss that adds a human heartbeat to an interstellar mission.
On the spaceship, the trio confronts Brandon and attempts to derail his plan. Along the way they encounter the singer Gigi D’Alessio, who has been captive and robotized by the aliens. D’Alessio’s fate becomes a turning point when Matilda softly performs his song, Un nuovo bacio, and a spark of consciousness returns to him. He chooses to join the human‑led resistance, but tragedy strikes when he is shot by Janine, an armored robot who was once Ciro’s secretary and who is now programmed to terminate them. The relentless Janine is eventually taken down by Ciro, clearing a path toward Brandon’s location.
With Brandon momentarily at their mercy, the aliens offer a tempting deal—indefinite contracts for the trio at the company. But Ciro, Matilda, and Fabio stand firm in their choice to be heroes rather than hirelings. They refuse the easy life and press forward. Brandon activates the cannon and reveals the debt amount the humans owe: a mere 37 euros in Italian currency. In a tense, almost comic twist, the trio rummages through pockets and coins together what amounts to the sum, buying Earth a narrow, last‑minute reprieve as the countdown ends and the world is spared from annihilation.
In the aftermath, a few months pass and life resumes with new directions. Ciro teams up again with Fabio as a wedding and event videographer, capturing smiles and moments big and small. Matilda has joined Brandon’s company, where she has married an alien, signaling a new, if unconventional, union between worlds. The film closes with a broader glance at the shift in the job market, as other unemployed graduates find places within the same employer, hinting at a future where Earth’s defense becomes a shared enterprise across species. Yet in Dimension X, the Lord encounters the illegal parking attendant sent by Fabio and realizes that Earth might still be viewed as a dumpsite by others, hinting at an impending, broader invasion to come.
