Naveen is a film director in Telugu cinema who has just scored his sixth back-to-back hit and dreams of delivering a female-centric story in a broad, commercial format. After returning from Fancy Parameswar’s house, a garbage truck unexpectedly dumps a pile of trash onto his car, pulling him out of his routine and into a curious turn of events. In the mess, he discovers an old container containing a film reel and decides to take a closer look. The footage shows a girl performing with a quiet intensity, and that image lingers with him long after the reel ends.
He learns that the woman in the reel is Alekhya, an eye doctor, and not only is she a real person, but she also exists in a life that seems far more complicated than a simple screen moment. [Naveen] becomes determined to bring her into his next project, but Alekhya carries a wary history: her family harbors a deep-seated disdain for the film industry, and cinema carries the weight of judgment that they’ve carried for years. The two collide between ambition and tradition, until a hospital event where Alekhya is honored offers a spark of possibility. Naveen arrives as the chief guest, bearing a small token meant to honor the hospital’s work, and a couple in attendance recounts how his films once touched the life of their late son, giving Alekhya a new lens through which to view his sincerity.
Moved by the touching account, Alekhya opens the gift Naveen has brought and discovers the reel’s backstory. She reveals the truth behind the film: the person she saw on screen is not her, but her deceased identical twin sister, Akhila. Akhila was born with a passion for acting and carried that dream despite constant parental pressure to preserve the family’s reputation. A fragile arc follows: Akhila briefly acts in a film directed by her friend Deepak, but her father pulls her out, and the couple secretly marries, disowning by the rest of the family. The project collapses, Deepak sinks into depression, and tragedy compounds when he dies; Akhila, overwhelmed by grief, ends her own life. The family then shuns cinema, severing any memory of Akhila’s dream.
Deeply moved by Akhila’s story, Naveen resolves to honor her life and Deepak’s memory by crafting a story inspired by their experiences. He pitches the concept to Venkat, who gives the green light, and soon he meets with Alekhya again to propose that she play Akhila’s character. Alekhya is hesitant, but Naveen confesses a personal history: as a newcomer in the industry, he was once pressured by a producer to mediate in a casting couch scenario to land a lead and direction offer. He nearly gave in, but news of Deepak’s death jolted him toward a sincere resolve to make a film that pays tribute to Akhila and Deepak without compromising his own integrity. Alekhya, touched by the truth in his words, agrees to star in the project, choosing to keep their collaboration private from their families.
As their collaboration deepens, a quiet romance begins to blossom between [Naveen] and [Alekhya], even as her parents introduce Varun, a scientist and family friend’s son, as a potential husband for her. Varun meets Alekhya again when he appears briefly in Naveen’s film, and he is outwardly friendly about their working relationship, understanding the delicate balance they’re navigating. All goes smoothly until a relative spots Alekhya, triggering a cascade of anger from her parents. Alekhyaflushed with indignation over the way her sister’s feelings were suppressed, decides to leave home and insists on finishing the film despite the obstacles.
With the project nearly complete, Naveen approaches Alekhya’s parents to lay out his true intentions: he has attempted to craft a heartfelt tribute to Akhila and Deepak, and if they cannot accept the film, he will step away for good and never release it or show his face to them again. Their initial hostility gradually yields to curiosity and emotion as they attend the premiere. They are moved not only by the on-screen memories but by the way Naveen has woven Akhila’s reel into the fabric of the film. The family’s walls begin to crumble as they confront their past mistakes and recognize the genuine tribute before them.
In the climactic sequence, the film finds a new producer—Fancy Parameswar is credited for supporting the project at a crucial moment—who believes in the director’s vision and helps to finalize the production by integrating elements of Akhila and Deepak’s life into the narrative. The film becomes a sweeping success, earning attention and accolades, including a Filmfare Award for Akhila that she dedicates to her parents. Witnessing the film’s impact, Alekhya and Naveen’s bond is solidified, and the parents express pride in both of them for giving a true, respectful tribute to their daughter and to Deepak. The story closes on a hopeful note: Naveen and Alekhya’s relationship becomes official, and the movie’s reception completes the circle, turning personal pain into a powerful, celebrated tribute.
