A Record of Sweet Murder 2014

So-yeon, a tenacious South Korean reporter, is contacted by Park Sang-joon, an old childhood friend who has escaped from the mental institution where he has been held since age 10 and has since embarked on a serial killing spree.

Park Sang-joon asks them to bring along a Japanese cameraman, Koji Shiraishi, who will portray Tashiro.

When they meet at the rendezvous spot in Seoul, Sang-joon directs them to enter an abandoned apartment complex.

Inside, Sang-joon materializes and, with a knife at their throats, forces the pair into an apartment, ordering the cameraman to keep recording on the threat of death.

So-yeon begins questioning Sang-joon’s motives, trying to understand what drives his brutal acts.

Sang-joon shows a video he shot of the accident that led to his institutionalisation—the moment when their shared friend Go Yoon-jin was hit by a car.

He explains that ever since the accident, a god has been telling him to kill 27 people at age 27 as part of a ritual that will bring back Yoon-jin and the 27 victims.

He pleads with So-yeon and the cameraman to document the final two murders to prove that the ritual is real.
