Alex Smith

Alexander Douglas Smith, born May 7, 1984, is a prominent figure in the world of American football. Also known as Alex Smith, he is a retired professional football quarterback who had an illustrious 16-season career in the National Football League (NFL). Born in Bremerton, Washington, but raised in La Mesa, California, Smith began showing promise in football in his high school years. His college football career with the Utah Utes was marked with several honors, including first-team All-American honors. In 2005, he was picked first overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL draft, thus setting the stage for a career that would include stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Football Team. He was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2020. Off the field, Smith has been involved in charity initiatives and is hailed for his philanthropic involvement.
