Violett Beane

Violett Beane (born May 18, 1996) is an American actress whose career has swiftly progressed from regional theater in Texas to leading roles on major streaming platforms. She was born in St. Petersburg, Florida but moved with her family to Austin, Texas at the age of ten, a city she proudly calls her hometown. Growing up in a Quaker household, Beane attended weekly meetings and often describes her childhood as steeped in the values of compassion and reflection, which later informed her empathetic performances. She discovered a love for drama while attending McCallum High School, where she participated in school productions and honed her craft through intensive drama classes. By her senior year she secured an agent in Austin, marking the first professional step toward a screen career. In 2015 Beane landed her first notable television role as Taylor Truitt in season two of HBO’s The Leftovers, portraying a mysterious girl who disappears from the fictional town of Jarden, Texas. This exposure led to her casting as Jesse Wells/Jesse Quick on The CW’s hit superhero series The Flash, where she embodied a bright college student with super‑speed abilities and returned for a second season. She subsequently appeared in Fox’s medical drama The Resident as Lily, a young cancer patient whose storyline highlighted the emotional stakes of patient care. Beane’s film work includes the indie horror Flay, the documentary Tower—in which she portrayed pregnant victim Claire Wilson—and the Blumhouse thriller Truth or Dare (2018) as Markie Cameron. From 2018 to 2020 she starred as Cara Bloom in the CBS series God Friended Me, a role that took her to New York City for filming. More recently she leads the Hulu mystery Death and Other Details (2024) as Imogene Scott and the Amazon Prime crime series Countdown (2025) as Evan Shepherd. Off‑screen, Beane is a committed vegan, having posed for PETA to promote plant‑based living, and she often speaks about the ethical motivations behind her lifestyle.
