Vincent Lindon

Vincent Lindon, born 15 July 1959, is a renowned French actor and filmmaker whose extensive career spans multiple decades, starting in 1983. His exceptional acting skills have earned him recognition and numerous awards on a global scale. Notably, for his role in the movie, The Measure of a Man (2015), he clinched the Best Actor title at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, at the 41st César Awards, and the IFFI Best Actor Award accolade at the 46th International Film Festival of India. In 2024, his lead role in The Quiet Son further affirmed his acting prowess, as he was conferred the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival. Lindon's illustrious career in the film industry also includes serving as the president of the jury for the main competition section of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

In the early years of his life, Lindon descended from a familial line of prominence. He is the son of Laurent Lindon, director of Audioline, and Alix Dufaure, a journalist for Marie Claire. He is also a descendant of French Prime Minister Jules Dufaure and Marshal Rémy Joseph Isidore Exelmans. The driven actor completed his studies at the Lycée Victor-Duruy, building a solid foundation that paved the way for his illustrious career. His career breakthrough came when he served as a costume design assistant on the set of Alain Resnais' film, My American Uncle, in 1979, following which he worked with many esteemed film directors like Claude Sautet, Emmanuel Carrère, and Nicole Garcia.
