What's After the Movie
Sofia Christine Wylie (born January 7, 2004) is an American actress, dancer, and singer who has become a prominent figure in contemporary teen entertainment. Raised in the small community of Tramonto near Scottsdale, Arizona, she began dancing at the age of five, a discipline that quickly led to appearances on national television competitions such as So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Got Talent. Her early exposure to performance was complemented by formal acting training at the Second City Training Center in Hollywood, laying the groundwork for a seamless transition from dance to screen. In 2017 Wylie landed her breakout role as Buffy Driscoll on the Disney Channel series Andi Mack, where her charismatic presence and nuanced portrayal of a supportive friend earned her widespread recognition and a devoted fan base. The success of Andi Mack opened doors to further Disney collaborations, including the lead role of Cory Bailey in the Australian family film Back of the Net (2019) and the recurring character Gina Porter in the Disney+ mockumentary High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a role she inhabited from the series’ launch in November 2019 through its 2023 season. Beyond live‑action, Wylie has lent her voice to the Marvel Rising franchise, embodying the teenage genius Riri Williams / Ironheart across multiple animated specials and appearing in season three of Spider‑Man. In addition to acting, she launched the educational dance series "Dancing with Sofia Wylie" on IGTV and founded the production company AIFOS, which secured the adaptation rights to Jenny Torres Sanchez’s novel The Fall of Innocence. Her debut single “Side by Side” further showcases her musical talent, reinforcing her reputation as a versatile multi‑disciplinary artist. Continually expanding her portfolio, Wylie starred in the Netflix fantasy adaptation The School for Good and Evil (2022), confirming her status as one of the most dynamic young performers in Hollywood today.
