Sheila Vand

Sheila Vand is a notable American actress and performance artist known for her role in Ben Affleck's 2012 Oscar-winning film Argo. Her career in the film industry started in 2007 and continues to the present day. Vand began her acting journey on Broadway alongside Robin Williams in the 2011 Pulitzer-nominated Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, which firmly established her in the industry. Not just an actress, Vand is also a creative force, collaborating with filmmaker Ana Lily Amirpour on Pashmaloo, premiering at the Berlinale in 2011, and the critically acclaimed A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, which featured at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

From a young age, Sheila Vand, being born in the suburbs of Los Angeles but growing up in Palo Alto, California introduced her to the diverse world of performance and art. She graduated from UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television, honing her skills in acting and directing. Vand also originated the role of Hadia in Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, which moved to Broadway in 2011. She debuted Sneaky Nietzsche, an experimental live theatrical music experience, described by the Los Angeles Times as 'stepping into a living, changing art piece' and by LA Weekly as 'all-encompassing, sensory overload'. Vand's expansive career has seen her perform at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and feature in the CBS pilot for Beverly Hills Cop, and she continues to push the boundaries in her field.
