What's After the Movie
Olga Kostyantynivna Kurylenko, a notable actress who caught the spotlight by portraying Camille Montes in the James Bond Film Quantum of Solace in 2008. Born in Berdyansk, a port city in Ukraine being a part of Soviet Union back then, Kurylenko moved to France at an early age to pursue a career in modelling. However, she switched her focus to acting in 2004 and got her breakthrough role in an action-thriller film Hitman, 2007. Her repertoire is impressive and diverse, starring in films like To the Wonder, Seven Psychopaths, Oblivion, The Death of Stalin, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, and the superhero film Black Widow, along with Netflix series Treason and the yet to be released Extraction 2.
Raised by a single mother after her parents' split when she was three, Olga moved to Moscow at age 15 and Paris the following year. She was successful as a model, appearing on magazine covers like Vogue and Elle while simultaneously supporting her mother back home. She also became the face for brands like Bebe, Clarins, and Helena Rubinstein. Her acting career took off in 2004 with her debut in The Ring Finger, widely appreciated and awarded at the Brooklyn International Film Festival. She transitioned from modelling to acting entirely in 2006 and since then graced the industry with her talent. Working along with big names like Ben Affleck, and Tom Cruise, Kurylenko has substantial roles in films like Hitman, Max Payne, The Wonder, Oblivion, November Man, The Water Diviner, and Vampire Academy. Known back home for her Bond girl role, the mayor of Berdyansk even suggested naming a street after her.
