Kunaal Roy Kapur

Kunaal Roy Kapur, born on 13 February 1979 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, is a versatile Indian actor and filmmaker whose career spans over two decades of eclectic roles in film, television, and digital media. Coming from a culturally rich lineage, his paternal grandfather Raghupat Roy Kapur was a noted film producer, while his mother Salome Roy Kapur, a former Miss India and acclaimed dance instructor of Baghdadi Jewish descent, contributed to his artistic upbringing. Kunaal is the middle child of three brothers, with elder sibling Siddharth Roy Kapur, the CEO of UTV and Disney India, and younger brother Aditya Roy Kapur, also a prominent Bollywood actor, placing him within a family deeply embedded in the Indian entertainment industry. He launched his acting journey with the television series Just Mohabbat (1997‑98) and subsequently made a mark with cameo appearances such as in Loins of Punjab Presents (2007). His directorial debut came in 2009 with the mock‑documentary The President Is Coming, showcasing his knack for satire and comedy. Kunaal’s breakthrough on the big screen arrived with the cult hit Delhi Belly (2011), followed by memorable performances in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and the critically acclaimed web series TVF Tripling (2016‑2022).
