What's After the Movie
Khalil Joseph Nepomuceno Ramos was born on January 22, 1996 in Parañaque, Philippines to entrepreneur parents Lito Ramos and Tessa Nepomuceno. From the age of five his father began training him in vocal techniques, and the young Khalil quickly developed a passion for performing that was further shaped by legendary artists such as Michael Jackson, David Cook, Journey and John Lennon. By the time he entered high school at Colegio San Agustin in Makati, he was already experimenting with a broader musical palette that included Queen, Aerosmith and The Beatles, a transition that would later define his eclectic style. In July 2011 he captured national attention by finishing as the runner‑up on Pilipinas Got Talent, which earned him a contract with Star Magic and launched his dual career as a recording artist and actor. He released his self‑titled debut album under Star Records in August 2012, featuring pop‑infused OPM tracks that showcased his smooth vocals and charismatic stage presence. Princess and I marked his first major television role in 2012, where he shared the screen with leading stars like Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, solidifying his status as a rising teen idol.
Since then Khalil has built a versatile portfolio across film, television and music. He appeared in supporting roles in notable movies such as She’s Dating the Gangster, Kid Kulafu, A Second Chance, Honor Thy Father and Everything About Her before delivering a breakthrough performance as Felix Salonga in the critically acclaimed indie drama 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten (2016). His television credits expanded with recurring parts in the drama A Love to Last (2017) and the fantasy series La Luna Sangre (2017‑2018). In 2020 he transitioned to GMA Network’s Sparkle GMA Artist Center after a nine‑year stint with Star Magic, continuing to act in independent films like Riding in Tandem and Kasunduan. Outside of acting, his viral cover songs on Wish 107.5—most famously the Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris—have earned him a dedicated fanbase, and he frequently collaborates musically with his partner, actress Gabbi Garcia, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2017.
