Joivan Wade

Joivan Wade is an English actor, writer, director and producer who first captured public attention through the viral web series Mandem on the Wall. Born on 23 July 1993 in Bromley, South London, he grew up as the son of Derek Wade, a social‑worker‑musician, and Andrea Wade, an ordained minister and life coach. From a young age he balanced football trials with Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace academies and a passion for comic books, but at fifteen he chose acting, enrolling at the BRIT School where he studied Shakespeare and met future collaborator Percelle Ascott. After graduating, he joined the National Youth Theatre and quickly turned his comedic instincts into online content, co‑creating Mandem on the Wall in 2011; the debut episode amassed over a million YouTube views within a month, launching Wade and his partners into a UK teen following. This online fame led to his television break in the BBC comedy Big School (2013) and the teen drama Youngers on E4, followed by guest appearances in Doctor Who and a main role as Jordan Johnson in EastEnders (2016). While filming the soap he founded Wall of Comedy, a multi‑platform hub that later expanded into Wall of Music and Wall of Talent, collectively generating billions of views and supporting emerging creators. Wade’s first feature film role arrived with The First Purge (2018), after which producer Greg Berlanti cast him as Victor Stone / Cyborg in the DC series Doom Patrol and later Titans.
