What's After the Movie
Eugenia Kuzmina (born 25 December 1987 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian‑American actress, comedian and model whose multifaceted career spans runway catwalks, high‑fashion campaigns, television sitcoms and independent cinema. Raised by a father who worked as a nuclear physicist and a mother who transitioned from scientific research to homemaking, Kuzmina was initially training to become a professional ice skater before a chance discovery at age thirteen by the famed Russian designer Slava Zaitsev launched her into the world of fashion. She quickly moved from national Russian commercials for brands such as RC Cola and M&Ms to international runway work with houses like Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Thierry Mugler, and her visage graced the August 2004 cover of Glamour while appearing in campaigns for Hermès, Armani Jeans, Dior sunglasses, GAP and L’Oréal. After establishing herself as a sought‑after model represented by agencies including Nathalie Models, Ford Models Europe, IMG and LA Models, Kuzmina expanded into acting in 2011, debuting in the short film Likeness directed by Rodrigo Prieto and soon landing a guest role as a fairy on the hit series True Blood. Since then she has built a diverse résumé that includes recurring parts on New Girl, Castle and The Comeback, a starring turn in the horror thriller Quarantine L.A., and supporting roles opposite John Turturro in Fading Gigolo, Bill Murray in Rock the Kasbah, and Zac Efron in Dirty Grandpa. Recent highlights feature appearances in Todd Strauss‑Schulson’s Isn’t It Romantic, Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and the final Bruce Willis film Assassin, as well as a regular spot on the miniseries Spy City. In parallel with her screen work, Kuzmina has cultivated a passionate stand‑up comedy career, performing at The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory and UCB, touring with her improv troupe The Nobodies, and creating the 2022 show “Models of Comedy” that showcases fellow models in comedic sketches. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, film producer Bill Block, and their two children, balancing her work in front of the camera with a thriving presence on stage.
