July 18, 2017. An unknown virus begins spreading across the Los Angeles area, setting off a chain of events that reshapes the city and threatens the world. In the first two weeks, the outbreak kills more than three-quarters of the population, fueling a global panic and prompting the U.S. government to isolate the affected region.

By mid-September, the virus evolves into a new, human-changing strain. The infected become rotting, corpse-like zombie-vampire hybrids with an unrelenting hunger for human flesh and blood. They hide from the sun during the day, burning to death if exposed to light, and at night they stalk and hunt with animal-like fervor. All attempts to search for survivors in the zone are deemed futile, leaving a sense of eerie confinement around the area.

On November 26, a local news channel broadcasts an exclusive video message from Jake Miller, J.S.O.C. Chief Sergeant. The clip reveals that he and a group of six survivors are trapped inside the infected zone, surviving on dwindling supplies and scarce resources. This revelation clashes with the stance of the J.S.O.C. special ops team, which had previously declared that there were no survivors in the area. In response, officials announce a drastic plan: a nuclear bomb will decontaminate Los Angeles, allowing the corrupt federal government to present the catastrophe as a nuclear accident and to erase Los Angeles from existence.
