Eloy Azorín

Eloy José Arenas Azorín, known professionally as Eloy Azorín, is a prolific Spanish actor whose career spans film, television, and theatre, and he has become a recognizable face in contemporary Spanish entertainment. Born on 19 February 1977 in Madrid, Spain, he is the son of comedian Eloy Arenas and artist‑representative Amelia Azorín, who managed his early career through her company Camelion until her retirement in 2016. Thanks to his father's connections, he made a brief television appearance at the age of five, interrupting his father's program and bidding farewell to the audience, an early glimpse of his comfort in front of the camera. He later studied at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid, where he refined his craft before landing his first leading film role at age nineteen in Como un relámpago (1996), directed by Miguel Hermoso. His breakthrough arrived with Pedro Almodóvar’s celebrated Todo sobre mi madre (All About My Mother, 1999), where he portrayed Esteban, a young man seeking the truth about his absent father, a performance that contributed to the film’s Oscar win for best foreign‑language picture. Azorín continued to build a diverse filmography, appearing in Cuba (1999), Mad Love (2001), Guerreros (2001), Kisses for Everyone (2002), The Borgia (2006), and No me pidas que te bese, porque te besaré (2008), showcasing his versatility across genres. On television he earned acclaim for roles such as Javier Alarcón in Gran Hotel (2011‑2013), Pablo in Sin identidad (2014‑2015), Sastre in Apaches (2017), and Fernando Fábregas in High Seas (2019‑2020). His stage work includes starring as Dorian Gray in The Picture of Dorian Gray (2004) and as Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2016‑2017). Azorín’s talent has been recognized with the Ercilla Revelation Prize (2004) and the Best Actor award at the Peñíscola International Comedy Film Festival for his role in Besos para todos. With a career active since 1996, he remains a dynamic presence in Spanish performing arts, continuing to captivate audiences across multiple media.
