Donna Anderson (born Donna Knaflich on September 5, 1939 in Gunnison, Colorado) is an American character actress whose career blossomed during the golden age of television in the 1960s and 1970s. She entered the film industry with a modest but significant debut in Stanley Kramer’s acclaimed 1959 anti‑nuclear drama On the Beach, where her supporting performance caught the eye of the director. The following year Kramer cast her in the landmark courtroom drama Inherit the Wind, and her portrayal earned her a Golden Laurel nomination for Top New Female Personality, signaling her arrival as a promising talent. Anderson soon became a familiar face on the small screen, most notably securing a recurring role as Jenny in the ABC western series The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters alongside a young Kurt Russell; her character’s nurturing presence helped guide the titular youngster across the treacherous American frontier.
