What's After the Movie
Corbin Bleu Reivers (born February 21, 1989) is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and dancer whose career spans over two and a half decades. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to an Italian‑American mother, Martha Callari, and Jamaican‑American father, actor David Reivers, Bleu grew up immersed in the performing arts, studying ballet and jazz from an early age and appearing in television commercials by the age of two. After moving to Los Angeles in 1996, he landed guest spots on series such as ER and High Incident and appeared in films like Galaxy Quest and Mystery Men before gaining worldwide fame as Chad Danforth in Disney’s High School Musical trilogy (2006‑2008). The success of the franchise launched his music career, leading to the release of his debut album Another Side (2007) and subsequent records, while he also headlined the High School Musical concert tour and starred in Disney Channel hits such as Jump In! Beyond the teen pop phenomenon, Bleu has built a diverse résumé that includes Broadway credits as Usnavi in In the Heights (2010), Ted Hanover in Holiday Inn (2016), and Bill Calhoun in the revival of Kiss Me, Kate (2019). He has appeared in independent films, voiced characters in animated features, and competed as a runner‑up on Dancing with the Stars (Season 17). In 2016 he married actress Sasha Clements, and while the couple has no publicly reported children, they remain active in charitable work supporting organizations such as Starlight Children’s Foundation and Do Something. Bleu continues to tour, record, and act, recently returning to the High School Musical universe and preparing for a West End debut as Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby (2025).
