Amanda Brugel

Amanda Brugel, Canadian actress, started her acting career in 1999 starring in the HBO drama film Vendetta. She gained recognition through her roles in a diverse range of films and series such as comedy film A Diva's Christmas Carol, the horror film Jason X, satirical drama Maps to the Stars, and action thriller film Becky. She received several accolades throughout her career including two Canadian Screen Awards for Kim's Convenience and Canada's Drag Race, and an ACTRA Award win for her performance in Sex After Kids.

Born and raised in Quebec, Brugel pursued her passion in acting after a successful stint as a dancer. A Fine Arts talent scholarship recipient, she graduated from York University's renowned Theatre Program in 2000. After her debut in Vendetta, she continued to showcase her versatility by playing various roles in different genres of television series like Paradise Falls, Seed, and Orphan Black. Earning critical acclaim for her role in Sex After Kids, she continued to make a mark in the industry appearing in big productions like Suicide Squad and the dystopian drama series The Handmaid's Tale. A noteworthy point in her career came in 2021, when she joined the judging panel of the reality competition series Canada's Drag Race.
