Alicia Amanda Vikander, a Swedish actress born on 3 October 1988 in Gothenburg, has gained global recognition for her skillful and diverse performances. Trained as a ballet dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm, Vikander started her acting journey in Swedish short films and television series, gaining her first recognition through the drama series Andra Avenyn (2008–2010). Her maiden feature film was Pure (2010), earning her the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. Greater recognition came with her roles in Joe Wright's period drama Anna Karenina (2012) and A Royal Affair where she portrayed Queen Caroline Mathilde. She bagged an Academy Award for her role in The Danish Girl (2015), other key roles include Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth (2014), playing a humanoid robot in Ex Machina (2014) and her first foray into the action genre through Jason Bourne (2016) and Tomb Raider (2018).

Forwarding to 2020, Vikander portrayed the young Gloria Steinem in the biographical drama The Glorias. She showcased her acting prowess in diversified roles in films like the thrilling Beckett, fantastical The Green Knight, and a deeply moving drama Blue Bayou. A feminist, Vikander has actively voiced for gender equality in the film industry. Vikander resides in Lisbon, Portugal, since 2017 with her husband, actor Michael Fassbender, and their two sons. She also took up British citizenship and now holds dual Swedish and British citizenship.
