Alice Eva Lowe, born April 3rd, 1977, is an established English actress, writer, director, and comedian. In a diverse span of her career, she has played memorable characters such as Dr. Haynes in Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Madeleine Wool/Liz Asher in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Lowe's talents are not limited to performing; she wrote, directed, and starred in the 2016 film Prevenge and co-wrote and starred in the 2012 film Sightseers. Her work is also remarkable in the children's television series, Horrible Histories. Lowe's theatrical journey began at King's College, Cambridge, where she delved into theatre and comedy. She was a part of surreal experimental theatre shows and worked with talents like Robert Webb and David Mitchell. Her work in Garth Marenghi's Fright Knight alongside Richard Ayoade and Matt Holness, earned her a nomination for the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2000. She also won an award for the sequel to the same play in 2001. Over the years, she has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies including Hot Fuzz and The World's End. Additionally, she has shown her comedy prowess through three series of Alice's Wunderland, a dark, surreal comedy on BBC Radio 4. Most recently, Lowe's film Timestalker was announced, which chronicles a woman's unrequited love across several centuries. It is her homage to the most romantic cinematic epics.
