**Alice Maud Krige**, a renown South African actress and producer, has had a prosperous acting career ever since her big break in 1981. Krige starred in movies across genres and manifold cultures like British, South African, European, and American films throughout her career. She is most celebrated for her role of the Borg Queen in science fiction film Star Trek: First Contact, which got her a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. She reprised several times in 2001, 2021, and also scheduled in 2023 across different Star Trek series. Her other praiseworthy film appearances include The Little Vampire, Silent Hill, Skin, Solomon Kane, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and many more. She demonstrated her mettle by playing the leading role in the 2021 psychological horror drama film, She Will. Krige was born and raised in South Africa, the daughter of professionals in psychology and physiology. Despite her initial plans to be a clinical psychologist, she found her passion in acting during her college years. Her debut was with an Afrikaans romantic film in 1976 and she moved to England in 1979 where she initiated her prominent career. She garnered diverse roles in television, miniseries, and plays, her most recognized being playing Lucie Manette in the 1980 historical drama film A Tale of Two Cities. She also bagged awards for her performances. Besides acting, Krige also exhibited her skills in production with films like Jail Caesar. Her memorable contributions include delivery across genre films, miniseries adaptations, movies made for television, and popular series, and continues her contributions to the craft.
