Alex Høgh Andersen is a Danish actor, model, and photographer who rose to international prominence through his compelling portrayal of Ivar the Boneless in the hit historical series Vikings (2016‑2020). Born on 20 May 1994 in the modest town of Skælskør on the island of Zealand, Denmark, he grew up as the son of Thomas Andersen and Charlotte Høgh, where early exposure to school drama sparked a lifelong passion for performance. During his secondary education he took lead roles in numerous musical productions, honing his stage presence and vocal abilities, and by the age of seventeen he resolved to transition from theater to on‑screen acting.
