Undisputed II: Last Man Standing 2006

Years after his clash with Monroe Hutchen in prison, the former boxing champion George “Iceman” Chambers [Michael Jai White] heads to the Russian Federation for a string of boxing matches and lucrative commercial airings, only to be framed for possession of cocaine and sent back to prison. There, he discovers a brutal world where illegal mixed martial arts bouts are run by inmate Yuri Boyka [Scott Adkins], a fighter whose deadly technique dominates the ring. In his cell, Chambers becomes cellmates with Stevie Parker [Ben Cross], a British junkie who shares the harsh realities of life behind bars.

Mob boss Gaga [Mark Ivanir] and Warden Markov [Valentin Ganev] present a grim proposition: if Chambers agrees to face Boyka, he might secure an expedited appeal and a chance at early release. At first, Chambers refuses, enduring demeaning labor in the prison’s sewer system and witnessing the cold brutality of the guards. He expects help from his talent agent Phil Gold [Ken Lerner] to clear his name, but learns that Gold played a part in the setup. Reluctantly, Chambers agrees to the match, drawn into a dangerous trap. He is briefly rescued from humiliation by an inmate named Crot [Eli Danker], who uses a wheelchair and becomes a mentor in the gym, teaching him a sharper, more diverse fighting approach. Together with Crot, Chambers trains hard for the fight, while Boyka readies a devastating arsenal of kicks, throws, and grappling sequences designed to humiliate his opponent. In the shadows of the gym, Stevie is coerced by Boyka’s crew to spike Chambers’ water, a treacherous ploy that casts a pall over the impending clash.

The first round unfolds with Chambers surprised by the sheer variety and tempo of Boyka’s offense. He stays calm, keeps his distance when possible, and delivers punishing punches, even managing to knock Boyka to the canvas briefly. Yet the tainted water dulls his senses as the round ends, and in the second round Chambers loses consciousness and is finished by a flying kick. The aftermath ripples through the prison: Stevie, tormented by guilt, hangs himself. When he discovers the truth about the drugging, he confronts Boyka and is punished for his rebellion, chained to a pole in the icy yard after an altercation with the Warden. The other inmates salvage what warmth they can to shield Chambers from the freezing cold, underscoring the harsh conditions of life inside. Meanwhile, Boyka confronts his men for drugging Chambers and eliminates the two henchmen behind the plot, signaling a burning desire for retribution and a rematch.

As the plot unfolds, Gold is killed by Gaga’s enforcer Svetlana, a brutal reminder of the corruption that swirls around the ring and the prison. Chambers agrees to one more bout to secure his release, and he asks Gaga to provide warmer coats for the prisoners enduring the brutal cold. Training intensifies, with Crot guiding Chambers through advanced grappling and a deeper understanding of mixed martial arts. The backstory of Crot—a former soldier who took the blame for his younger brother’s crime, ultimately paying with a life sentence and paralysis after a failed escape—adds emotional weight to the training and motivation.

When the rematch finally begins, the fighters are evenly matched, and the battle becomes a long, grueling testament to endurance, technique, and adaptation. Chambers recognizes that Boyka will not yield, and the fight tests every ounce of his skill. After a strenuous exchange of grapples, throws, and joint-manipulation, Chambers discovers a way to gain the upper hand by trapping Boyka and delivering a decisive joint lock that breaks Boyka’s leg, securing his own status as the undisputed champion of the prison. The victory yields a hard-won freedom: Chambers is released, and his winnings fund a reunion of purpose. He uses the prize money to secure Crot’s freedom, then wheels him to a train station for a heartfelt reunion with his estranged niece. In the end, Chambers expresses gratitude for the help and training that reshaped his fate, and Crot meets his long-lost relative, stepping into a new chapter of life with hope and dignity.
