On the sunlit streets of Lagos, Professor Craig, Bimbo Akintola and his baby are snatched by an armed gang, setting off a brutal chain of events that upend everyone around them. The couple’s fate is sealed in violence, and the tremors of their loss ripple through the city, drawing in a tapestry of powerful players and desperate loyalties. The tragedy becomes a political and religious crucible, where alliances are built and broken in the blink of an eye.

The gang wastes no time in manipulating the outrage that follows. They attempt to pin the murder on an innocent man, Damilola Edima, the son of Paul Edima, Richard Mofe-Damijo. As corrupt cops seize on the opportunity, Damilola is killed, framed as the mastermind behind the kidnapping. Amid the shock, aspiring journalist Vic Kalu, Ade Laoye, throws herself into the case, determined to uncover the truth and support Paul, who initially resists her help. Yet Vic’s persistence gradually wears down Paul’s reluctance, and together they begin peeling back the layers of the crime that has enveloped their lives.

When Vic learns who stood behind the killing, Paul’s rage erupts. He abducts and tortures those responsible, recording their confessions on camera. Vic retrieves the SD card with the footage and attempts to show it to her editor, but the footage is promptly destroyed—her boss arguing the case is too sensitive to publish. The confrontation with the truth hardens Paul’s resolve, and soon the gang escalates its assault on law enforcement, pushing the state to delegitimize Edima and declare him a public enemy in a bid to cover their tracks.

General Issa, Femi Branch, responds by sending his men to extinguish Paul Edima, but Paul proves resourceful and defeats the initial assault. He rejects a tempting offer of compensation for the loss of his son, choosing instead to pursue a reckoning that extends beyond personal vengeance. Open war erupts between Paul and Issa, a crucible that tests faith, power, and the limits of justice.

The gospel-harboring church where Vic Kalu was raised becomes a pivotal stage in the drama. Inside, Edima confesses that he once belonged to a drug-dealing gang led by Issa, but has since found God and become a deacon. He also reveals a haunting truth: he was the hitman who killed Kalu’s mother, a journalist who had planned to publish reports on the gang’s illegal activities. The confession roils the church, turning a sanctuary into a tense battleground as armed gunmen storm in and abduct Vic. Edima escapes the siege, while Paul recalibrates his fight from revenge to exposure.

Seeking a turning point, Paul reaches out to a formidable ally: Big Daddy, Shaffy Bello, a powerful businesswoman who commands a private army of female soldiers. Together they craft a daring plan to assault the gang’s headquarters and liberate Vic. The assault is bold and cinematic, with Big Daddy and her soldiers infiltrating the complex disguised as farmers, eliminating many gang members and seizing a critical case from the gang’s safe.

In a decisive revelation, Edima explains that after killing Kalu’s mother, he chose mercy over further bloodshed by taking her to a church, and he threatens to expose the “black book”—a compendium of the gang’s operations. Issa offers a grim exchange: let Edima and Kalu go in return for the book’s contents. The deal unsettles many in power, and the balance of control shifts as Big Daddy’s influence expands beyond the battlefield and into the information war.

Big Daddy’s leverage proves potent when she leaks a video showing gang members killing four army officers to cover up illegal mining activities. The video precipitates a military invasion of the gang’s HQ, forcing many to flee and scramble for safety. In the chaos, Issa is finally confronted by Edima and taken into custody, signaling a dramatic turn in the long-running conflict.

With the case reopened and the black book finally in hand, Vic Kalu retrieves the evidence and stands ready to publish the truth. Edima finds a sense of closure as he buries his son, but he asks Kalu to tell the world what really happened. The pursuit of truth yields results: a cascade of arrests targets the gang’s most powerful captains and associates, revealing a web of corruption that stretches far beyond the streets of Lagos. The movie closes on the note that accountability can emerge from the most personal losses, and that courage—whether driven by faith, love, or journalism—can illuminate the darkest corners of crime and power.
