Summer Night 2019

One summer evening, a group of young adults gather in their town to prepare for an exciting party at The Alamo, a local music venue. During this night, they embark on personal journeys and discover more about themselves and their relationships. Among them are best friends Seth and Jameson, along with Seth’s girlfriend Mel, plus Mel’s friends Lexi and Vanessa. Their friends Taylor and Andy also hit the stage to perform at The Alamo.

As the night unfolds, Mel learns she is pregnant, prompting her two best friends, Lexi and Vanessa, to comfort her at their home. Meanwhile, Lexi confesses to her friend Jack over the phone that she slept with a groomsman at her sister’s wedding, revealing the complexities of her feelings. In a moment of tension, Jameson questions Seth about their relationship’s dynamics, but Seth remains evasive, causing Jameson to head over to Mel’s house where he finds Vanessa outside. At this moment, the hidden Seth overhears Vanessa urging Jameson to tell him to reach out to Mel for a conversation.

Jameson later visits his friend Andy, a bartender at the Alamo, where they delve into Jameson’s upcoming date with the outgoing Harmony and his on-and-off relationship with Corin. Their friend Rabbit arrives and drops the bombshell that Lexi had an encounter with someone, prompting concern from Jameson and Andy about Rabbit’s feelings for Lexi.

Away from the gathering, Taylor gets ambushed while biking but is saved by Dana, the younger sister of one of his friends. Grateful, he extends an invitation for her to join him at the Alamo that night.

During an emotionally charged visit, Seth confronts Mel about their future, yet when he diverts to check his phone, Mel reacts in frustration, demanding he leave. Outside the Alamo, Seth confides in his bandmate Caleb about Mel’s pregnancy, carrying the weight of uncertainty with him. Harmony drives Jameson to the Alamo, and as Seth and his band hit the stage, Taylor seeks Dana among the crowd.

As the evening progresses, Vanessa makes her way into the Alamo, navigating the complexities of her feelings towards Taylor. When Corin, who is working the door, asks Jameson for a talk after her shift, Jameson pays for both him and Harmony, marking their date. While on a break, Harmony questions Corin about her interest in Jameson, to which Corin falsely denies any feelings.

Seth, seeking fatherly advice, steps outside to speak with Luke. Eventually, Mel and Lexi head to the Alamo. Once there, Mel observes Taylor and Vanessa’s interaction, which complicates her emotional state. At the bar, when Harmony confronts Jameson about lingering feelings for Corin, she urges him to figure out what he truly wants from their relationship. After more social intermingling, conflicts arise when Mel and Seth have a heated discussion about the future of their baby; Mel storms off, with Lexi and Rabbit escorting her home.

In a twist of fate, Taylor and Dana sneak into a local bar through a side entrance and share a dance. Their night gets interrupted when the bartender informs them of Dana’s age, leading to their swift exit. Outside, they share a heartfelt moment where they kiss while swimming in the river, further solidifying their budding relationship.

As the night draws to a close, Jameson confronts Corin about his conflicted feelings for her while reflecting on the life choices they collectively face. After an emotional exchange, Jameson leaves her with the harsh reality of their impending decisions laden with the pressure of their small-town life.

Back at the house, Rabbit and Lexi have a candid conversation that culminates in a kiss as Mel catches Seth trying to sneak back into the house. In a moment of vulnerability, Seth expresses remorse for not being the partner Mel needs. They share a profound moment, discussing their future before resting together in bed.

The following day, the group reconvenes at Caleb’s house, where they share hearty drinks and recap their experiences from the previous night. Finally, they visit the coffee shop where Dana works, leading to a charming exchange as Taylor arrives bearing a flower for her.
