That chance meeting doesn’t go smoothly: Jessica believes Christopher is shallow and performative, even though she enjoys his music. After a bruising encounter, Christopher takes Jessica to the hospital to check out her injuries, and then to his house to keep him out of the tabloids while the director expects him to stay away from trouble. On a tense ride home, he hides his car in Jessica’s garage and spends the night there, hoping to avoid discovery by fans and family alike. The next morning, Jessica lends him her grandfather’s old fishing hat to use as a disguise when he slips away.

As days pass, the pair are drawn toward each other, even as they struggle to trust what’s real in a world built on prying cameras and staged moments.
