Approach to the maggot hole

The P-Fleet closes in on the maggot hole, edging into the unknown region of space. On the bridge of the C.P.P. Potkustartti, Captain James B. Pirk gazes at the anomaly while memories from the recent past begin to surface.

Pirk's exile and Earth's altered history

Years after being stranded on Earth, Pirk learns that humanity's history has diverged since first contact with the Vulgars. He locates the Vulgars' ship and leverages the support of the Russian President to start rebuilding his power. With this backing, he constructs the C.P.P. Potkustartti and forms what will become the P-Fleet.

Rise to power and fleet building

Through his technological edge, Pirk consolidates power on Earth and proclaims himself its emperor. He organizes and expands the P-Fleet, using it as the backbone of his expansion beyond Earth. The fleet's dominance enables him to shape history to his own advantage.

Crossing into a parallel universe

Pirk leads the fleet through the maggot hole into a parallel universe where history has diverged. He declares his intent to conquer this new world and informs Babel 13's Captain Johnny K. Sherrypie of his ambition. The confrontation between rival empires is set in motion.

Babel 13's first defeat and surrender

Sherrypie's forces are overwhelmed near Babel 13, and the station's defenses fall under the P-Fleet’s superior technology. He surrenders and lures Pirk with promises of shore leave and opportunities to exploit Babel 13's female personnel. The balance of power abruptly shifts in favor of Pirk's fleet.

Assassination attempt and escape

Sherrypie and his crew attempt to assassinate Pirk, but the plot fails and Pirk and his security detail escape. The battle resumes with the P-Fleet pressing its advantage and the threat from Babel 13 persisting. The outcome remains uncertain as the two sides collide again.

Arrival of the Excavator

The Excavator, commanded by Festerbester, arrives in the fight and the P-Fleet suffers substantial losses. Potkustartti takes critical damage, forcing the crew to improvise and fight on with dwindling options. The battle becomes a brutal grind in the void.

Potkustartti on a collision course

Crippled, the Potkustartti is set on a collision course while bridge personnel evacuate to Fukov's ship, the Kalinka. The crew braces as the vessel's fate teeters between disaster and salvation. Other ships contend with the Excavator and Babel 13's defenses nearby.

The twist core split destroys both ships

In a destructive clash, the Potkustartti rams the Excavator in a twist-core split that mirrors a Star Trek-style catastrophe. The blast annihilates both ships, eliminating the primary threats and shifting the momentum toward Babel 13. The Kalinka and the remaining P-Fleet vessels press toward Babel 13 in a last-ditch effort.

Babel 13's reactor bomb and the Kalinka escape

Sherrypie's security officer Mikhail Garybrandy primes Babel 13's reactor to destroy the incoming ships. The explosion wipes out the surviving P-Fleet forces, but the Kalinka escapes through the maggot hole, spiraling toward an unknown destination. The station's destruction marks a crushing defeat for Pirk's ambitions.

Crash-landing on ice-age Earth

The Kalinka crashes into what appears to be ice-age Earth as Pirk, Info, and Dwarf beam down to safety before the ship is destroyed. They survive the catastrophe but are stranded in a time far removed from their own. A new, uncertain era unfolds beneath their feet.

The post-battle plan and power save suggestion

With no ship to call home, Pirk faces a quiet era in which his plans are stalled. Info suggests going into power save mode and reviving himself in the distant future to stop the maggot hole from swallowing the fleet again. The strategy hints at a larger cycle of survival and resistance.
