In the Greek countryside, archaeologists Dr. Pete Asilov and Prof. Andre detonate dynamite in an abandoned mountain cave, uncovering petrified eggs amid the blasts. One egg is taken, but a second hatched unseen, releasing a reptilian creature that vanishes into the mountainside. Andre lives nearby in a villa with his orphaned niece Maria and their superstitious housekeeper Calliope, who warns of monsters and angry spirits haunting the mountain—warnings Andre largely ignores.

Later, as Prof. Andre studies his share of an ancient map that promises gold inside the cave, his business partner Mr. Dorman arrives with his associates Stravos, his driver, and his girlfriend Sofia Minelli. They possess the other half of the map, which points to the treasure’s exact location. Ominous clues continue to arise, including the decaying body of an ancient Neanderthal woman, strengthening Calliope’s warnings. Yet the men remain determined to dig for the riches. They also discover the bones of a man who was likely buried to keep the treasure’s location secret. As Stravos investigates the mummified corpse, the creature stalks from the shadows and slashes him to death with its claws. Shaken, the men blame would‑be village thieves and hurry back to the villa, where Dorman is injured in the process.

Terrified by what might be hunting them, they momentarily abandon the plan to leave. While fetching water for coffee, Calliope is killed by the creature, and the group braces themselves inside the villa. Determined to keep his niece safe, Prof. Andre entrusts her to Dr. Pete Asilov, who shares an affection with her, and Pete sneakily returns to the cave to seal it shut. He detonates the dynamite and blows the cave entrance, buying them time.

The next morning, hoping to slip away, they find the car’s engine flooded and the vehicle unusable. The creature returns, forcing them to barricade themselves inside. It finally breaches the villa, but a trail of clawprints leading from the kitchen helps them corner the beast; flour on the floor marks its path, and they strike it with hatchets, driving it back. They manage to restart the vehicle, only for the creature to cling to the roof, prompting a desperate decision. Dorman ignites the fuel reserves in the back of the jeep, sacrificing himself and the creature in a massive blaze. With the monster dead, the four survivors begin walking back toward town, hoping to elude the mountains’ menacing reach.

In the craggy heights of the Greek mountains, a remote landscape of limestone cliffs and echoing valleys becomes the backdrop for a chilling tale. A small, tightly‑knit group of hikers and researchers triggers a violent explosion while exploring an abandoned cave, unintentionally awakening an ancient, invisible predator whose deafening shrieks reverberate through the pass. The mountains, already foreboding, turn hostile as the unseen creature stalks the wilderness, turning every gust of wind and every shadow into a potential threat.

The story centers on a handful of distinct personalities thrust together by circumstance. Dr. Pete Asilov, a determined archaeologist with a hidden affection for the youthful Maria, arrives with his scholarly partner Prof. Andre, whose pragmatic approach clashes with the mysticism that pervades the region. Living with them is Maria’s orphaned niece, a resilient young woman seeking safety, and Calliope, the superstitious housekeeper whose warnings of restless spirits linger in every dimly lit room. Their fragile peace is further complicated by the arrival of Mr. Dorman, a shrewd businessman, his steadfast associate Stravos, and Sofia Minelli, Dorman’s enigmatic girlfriend, all drawn by the promise of treasure hidden within the mountain’s depths.

From the first tremor of the blast, the film settles into a tone of relentless tension, blending the stark beauty of the alpine setting with a palpable sense of dread. The invisible dinosaur, never fully seen, becomes a manifestation of ancient terror, its shrieks echoing the characters’ growing unease. The isolated environment forces each individual to confront not only the lurking menace but also their own fears, loyalties, and the thin line between curiosity and survival.

As the night deepens and the mountains close in, the ensemble must navigate a landscape where every footstep may awaken another echo of the past. The looming presence of the unseen predator keeps the audience on edge, promising a harrowing journey that tests the limits of courage, trust, and humanity against a primeval horror that has lay dormant for eons.
