Jaswinder Randhawa Ajay Devgn, known as Jassi, and Balwinder Singh Sandhu Sanjay Dutt, nicknamed Billu, are the two sons at the heart of a generations-old feud that tore apart their Punjab families after a violent past. The two men grow up as sworn enemies, each carrying the weight of their fathers’ feud. In a bid to heal the rift, Jaswinder’s mother hides him in London, while Balwinder waits in Punjab for the day he can avenge his father’s death. The stage is set for a clash of loyalties, pride, and the stubborn stubbornness of inherited hatred.

Twenty-five years pass, and Jassi has become a drifting, unemployed immigrant in London. He’s a carefree, if somewhat reckless, presence who still clings to a sense of kinship with Pathan [Salman Khan], who runs a nearby club and acts like a brother figure in the city. Then a letter from the Punjab government arrives, informing him of a land settlement left to him by his father in Phagwara. The chance to claim the property pulls Jassi back to his ancestral home, where old wounds and new temptations collide. On the train to Punjab, fate introduces him to Sukhmeet Kaur Sandhu [Sonakshi Sinha], Billu’s younger sister, who captivates him with her warmth and charm. Unknown to Jassi at first, Sukh is tied to a family that would rather see him dead than alive, and she is returning from Delhi after finishing her studies.

Pammi [Juhi Chawla Mehta], Billu’s would-be bride, has waited years for his vow to end, and she remains a quiet, calculating presence in the Sandhu household. Billu’s household is crowded with relatives and advisors who all carry a stake in the feud: Tony [Mukul Dev] and Tito [Vindu Dara Singh] are Billu’s brothers, and Bebe [Tanuja Samarth] is the grandmother who anchors the family’s old traditions. The Sandhu clan treats Jassi as a guest, a guest who could become a threat, depending on who’s watching. Yet the house has a rule that a guest should never be harmed, a principle Jassi tests almost from the moment he steps inside.

To delay his exit and buy time for his own safety, Jassi enacts a clever ruse, feigning a crippling back injury to stay in the Sandhu household longer than planned. The women of the house—Pammi, Sukh, Poly, and Sweety—don’t know the full danger he poses, but they sense trouble looming on the horizon. The tension intensifies when the local police inspector Sardar [Puneet Issar], a childhood friend of Billu, arrives to escort Jassi out of the house. Jassi makes a dramatic escape aboard a horse, triggering a high-stakes chase that leads him back to the Sandhu door and a tense, uneasy truce.

As the two men navigate their intertwined fates, Jassi’s romance with Sukh deepens, even as he misreads her closeness with Tej “Bobby” Jaswal [Arjan Bajwa], a childhood friend of Sukh. In reality, Sukh harbors genuine love for Jassi, but the two lovers struggle to admit their feelings openly. The festival of Lodhi becomes a turning point: Billu engineers an engagement between Bobby and Sukh to demonstrate control, while Bobby bravely reveals that his connection to Sukh is more complicated than an arranged match. He does this to avoid an unhappy union and to protect Sukh’s own desires, and Pammi sees a path forward for Jassi through the chaos.

Pammi steps into a strategic role, orchestrating plans to uproot the feud from within. She realizes that the engagement at the Gurudwara could serve as a cover for a broader escape, leveraging the crowds and ceremonies to buy Jassi critical time. Sukh, urged by Pammi and Bobby, contemplates running away with Jassi, choosing love over the inherited feud, while Jassi nevertheless remains determined to end the cycle of violence once and for all. The pair confront their feelings, confessing their love amid a backdrop of wedding bells, peril, and the looming threat of Billu’s wrath.

The confrontation climaxes in the Sandhu household and beyond, culminating at the Gurudwara where loyalties are tested and the rules of hospitality are put to the ultimate test: a guest cannot be harmed within a home. Pammi’s schemes come to light, and Sukh’s willingness to trust Jassi is finally rewarded as the couple fights off Billu’s goons to protect their future together. The shared moment comes when Billu’s grandmother, Bebe, urges forgiveness, reminding him that a quarter-century has passed since the old feud began and that the time has come to let the past rest. In a heartfelt turn, Billu chooses mercy and agrees to Jassi’s marriage to Sukh.

The final act sees a fragile peace taking root: Billu weds Pammi, symbolizing a new balance between the two families, and Jassi and Sukh step toward a future built on love, rather than revenge.
