Angelo Clovis Cornillac is a former street fighter who can’t deny his troubled past. He has learned to channel his aggressions by striving for success in Muai Thai. But during a tournament, the officials do him wrong. After an unjustified disqualification, he cannot hide his contempt for his opponent. Although this seals the premature end of his career, the worst is still about to come, because he has made an enemy. The aforementioned opponent believes he ought to teach Angelo a lesson. He and his friends confront Angelo outside the tournament.
When three enemies attempt together to waste Angelo in a derelict, dark alley, his instincts kick in. Driven by wrath, he applies his acquired fighting skills without restraint. Thus he causes the death of one of these men. Since he seems to have fought them off with considerable ease, a court judges that this wasn’t self-defense but manslaughter. Angelo is sentenced to prison.
After he has done his time, Angelo struggles mentally, an issue made worse by his alcoholism. Despite this fact, a woman recognises a spark of decency in him, Karole Rocher. As a result, Angelo becomes encouraged to start over once again. But he was unable to get any other job than to engage in illegal fights where gangsters bet on him. In order to survive these fights, Angelo had to give every effort possible.

In the shadowed corners of a city where honor is measured in sweat and bruises, the world of underground combat thrives like a secret society. The film fuses the relentless precision of Thai boxing with the chaotic freedom of mixed‑martial arts, creating a visceral arena that feels part sport, part survival. Inside this gritty, neon‑lit underground, the atmosphere crackles with raw energy, and every clash reverberates with the unspoken codes of fighters who live on the edge of law and chaos.
At the heart of this storm is Angelo, a former street‑fighter turned Muay Thai contender whose past is a tapestry of aggression and ambition. Once celebrated for his ferocious style, he now wrestles with the ghosts of a career that unraveled under the weight of an unjust setback. His talent is undeniable, yet his inner battle—fueled by shame, rage, and a stubborn need to prove himself—drives him deeper into the unforgiving world of illicit bouts, where the line between sport and survival blurs.
Amid the darkness, a flicker of humanity appears in the form of Karole, a woman who perceives a glimmer of decency beneath Angelo’s hardened exterior. Her quiet belief offers a fragile promise of redemption, hinting that the fight may be as much about inner renewal as it is about physical domination. Together, their uneasy alliance suggests that even in a realm defined by violence, the possibility of change lingers.
The film’s tone balances brutal, kinetic action with an undercurrent of melancholy, inviting viewers to feel the pulse of each strike while pondering the cost of a life lived in perpetual combat. It sets the stage for a story where strength, vulnerability, and the relentless pursuit of a fresh start intersect in a world that never lets its participants rest.
