Kalidasan, Lal, works in the state archaeological department in Thiruvananthapuram and is a devoted foodie. His only constant companion is his cook, Baburaj as Babu. Manu Raghav, Asif Ali, Kalidasan’s nephew, comes to stay with him while looking for a job. Kalidasan’s life remains ordinary until a misdialled phone call from Maya, Shweta Menon, a dubbing artist living with her friend Meenakshi.

Maya rings to order a special dosa named Thattil Kutty Dosa from a restaurant, but the call lands on Kalidasan instead. Their conversations do not start smoothly, but they discover a shared love of cooking and food, which sparks a long-distance romance. Kalidasan is a born gourmet, while Maya channels her culinary energy in memory of her late mother. Kalidasan even brings Maya into his kitchen world, revealing the secrets of baking with a multilayered cake called Joan’s Rainbow.

Before their first face-to-face meeting, nerves mount on both sides, and they decide to send younger and better-looking stand-ins: Manu and Meenakshi.
