Two millennia ago on the planet Chikyu, a group of heroes utilized the guardian deity Legend King-Ohger to exile the Underground Empire Bug Naraku. Following this victory, five heroes established the kingdoms of Shugodom, Nkosopa, Ishabana, Gokkan, and Tofu. However, a prophecy foretold that the Bug Naraku would one day return.
In the present day, fifteen years after a tragedy known as the Wrath of God, the Bug Naraku launch a genocidal attack on Shugodom. A youth named Gira Husty discovers that King Rcules Husty intends to use this conflict as a pretext to unify all kingdoms under his own tyrannical rule. Disgusted by Rcules’ willingness to sacrifice his own people, Gira steals the Ohger Calibur and declares himself an “evil king” to dismantle Rcules’ reign. Despite being branded a traitor, Gira is actually Rcules’ long-lost younger brother. He forms a strategic alliance with other rulers: President Yanma Gast, Queen Hymeno Ran, Chief Justice Rita Kaniska, and Overlord Kaguragi Dybowski.
The group is later joined by the historian Jeramie Brasieri, a half-Bug Naraku hybrid and son of a forgotten sixth hero. Together, they form the Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger.
