Aiden’s vow to protect a remote village

Ten years ago, Aiden is a teenage hunter in a small, remote mountain village. With little access to Guild support, he takes it upon himself to hunt monsters that threaten his neighbors. He is sent into the wild to find the monster that stole livestock, risking his life as danger closes in.

Rescued and lessons learned

Aiden is nearly eaten by a Velociraptor-like creature, but is rescued by Julius, a veteran hunter. Julius reveals that the tracks Aiden followed were fake and that the real culprit is a Melynx named Nox. The encounter teaches Aiden that not everything is as it seems in the wild.

A looming Elder Dragon threat

Aiden delivers Nox to the village, and the Wyverian leader warns that an Elder Dragon is on a migration path toward the New World and will pass through their village. The threat shifts from a personal hunt to a potential village-wide catastrophe. Evacuation and preparation become the new order of business.

Aiden and Julius set out to verify the threat

Julius agrees to guide Aiden to the site where the Elder Dragon was sighted so the villagers can decide whether to evacuate. The journey marks a turning point, as Aiden seeks confirmation that his home will be spared or forced to flee.

The Elder Dragon revealed: Lunastra

At the sighting site, the Elder Dragon is unveiled as Lunastra, a powerful, explosion-causing force. Aiden resolves to defend the village rather than flee, and Julius chooses to stay and help fight. A signal flare is fired to call other Hunters to assist.

Mae and Nadia join the effort

Two Hunters, Mae—custodian of a journal Nox stole—and Nadia, Julius’s former partner, join the group. Their presence adds knowledge, experience, and renewed resolve to the plan against the formidable Lunastra.

Ravi’s reluctance and warning

A trapped villager’s information leads them to Ravi, the blacksmith and retired Hunter who is hesitant to help. Ravi warns that there may be no light at the end of the tunnel if they confront the Elder Dragon unprepared. His skepticism creates friction but also foreshadows a pivotal change.

Nadia urges Julius to temper his judgment of Aiden, reminding him of his own past mistakes when trying to prove himself. The moment pushes both men toward humility and solidifies a mentor-student bond that will shape Aiden’s path.

Ravi’s change of heart and a makeshift weapon

Ravi changes his mind and decides to help, enlisting the support of many smiths to craft a super weapon from Congalala and Deviljho parts. The inventive collaboration demonstrates how cooperation can overcome skepticism and forge new hope.

The siege begins and tragedy strikes

With preparations complete, the village braces for the siege. During the battle, Mae and Ravi are killed by the Lunastra, delivering a heavy blow to the team and intensifying their resolve to hold the line. The loss deepens Aiden’s commitment to defend his home.

Aiden’s flood gambit saves the village

In a desperate gambit, Aiden bursts the village dam to flood the area and extinguish the lingering flames. While the others distract Lunastra, the flood helps to repel the dragon, turning the tide of the battle in favor of the villagers.
