Petris, played by Titi Kamal, is a passionate and somewhat egotistical vocalist specializing in alternative rock. At the beginning of her journey, she struggles with her emotions and often finds herself embroiled in disagreements, especially with her sister and manager, Yulia, portrayed by Kinaryosih. The story takes a dramatic turn when the duo is caught with a significant quantity of heroin, which is revealed to belong to Yulia’s boyfriend. This incident occurs inside their car and marks a pivotal moment in their lives. Fleeing the police, they find refuge in a nearby village where a humble dangdut concert is taking place. The performer scheduled for the event has recently quit, leaving the show without a singer.

Yulia, seeing this as a chance to evade law enforcement, suggests that they join the group, which leads to Petris adopting the stage name Iis. Although initially hesitant, she eventually agrees to step onto the stage and begin anew. As part of the group, Petris starts living with Rizal, played by Dwi Sasono, who is both the owner and manager of the troupe. Rizal becomes an object of admiration for Petris, and over time, Yulia develops romantic feelings for him. During their performances, Petris’s vocal talents improve, and she gradually becomes aware of the poverty and hardship faced by the villagers where they perform, which deepens her understanding of their struggles.

The group’s popularity begins to rise, and they receive multiple job offers, providing a sense of relief for the sisters as they are no longer hunted by the police. As weeks pass, tensions between Petris and Yulia escalate. A major fight erupts between the sisters, ending with Yulia in tears. Petris, feeling guilty and concerned for her sister’s wellbeing, chases after Yulia and finds her at Rizal’s house. Witnessing her sister’s pain and vulnerability, Petris gains a new perspective and becomes more empathetic toward others’ suffering.

After counting the earnings from their performances, the sisters decide to leave Rizal’s house. However, police officers soon arrive and catch them in an attempt to escape. Petris sacrifices herself, urging her sister to run and taking full responsibility for their actions. Yulia, moved by her sister’s bravery and realizing Petris’s determination to protect her, surrenders to the authorities after witnessing Petris being arrested. At the police station, they learn that the drug charges against them are dismissed, as Yulia’s ex-boyfriend has been apprehended. However, both sisters are sentenced to serve time for their escape from custody.

While incarcerated, Petris discovers her talent for singing and dedicates herself to entertaining her fellow inmates. Her journey from a troubled artist dealing with personal and legal issues to a woman who finds hope and purpose within herself highlights her resilience and ability to grow, even amidst hardship. The film paints a story of family loyalty, sacrifice, and the transformative power of music in overcoming adversity.
