When Leng and Fang depart Fang’s residence, Leng wounds Fang during a bitter clash, sending Fang fleeing to his hideout. They are then attacked by a mysterious group of armed men who do not belong to Fang's gang. Fang, dying from the wounds, reveals that Lord Liu orchestrated the theft and sent troops after them to erase evidence.

Liu’s betrayal revealed; Cun Yi’s fate confirmed

Leng learns that Cun Yi was killed by Lord Liu's troops, and the whole operation was a cover for Liu's scheme to hide the stolen gold. The revelation reframes the chase as political manipulation rather than a simple robbery. Leng steels himself for vengeance against Liu.

Leng assassinates Lord Liu but falls to a trap

Leng tracks down and murders Lord Liu to avenge his brother and expose the conspiracy. As Liu dies, he triggers a trap that detonates or collapses the area, mortally wounding Leng. The act achieves vengeance but costs Leng his own life.
