In a flashback, Bachu Kenneth Desai and Ishwarbhai Patel Anang Desai are close friends who share a dream: to reach the USA illegally. Bachu doesn’t yet have enough money, but the bond between them stays strong as they weigh risky possibilities and the pull of a new life across the ocean.

In the present, Bachu has two sons, Jignesh Patel Jay Upadhyay and Harish Patel Divyang Thakkar. Jignesh is married and expecting a child, while Harish, like his father, dreams of the United States. Bachu longs to see his own dream realized through his son, and the tension between past longing and present responsibility begins to shape the family’s choices.

Harish applies for a visa, but is rejected after failing to satisfy the visa officer, Derek Thomas Tom Alter. The blunt rebuke highlights the stubborn obstacles facing those who chase a better life through legal channels. The setback doesn’t deter Harish completely, but it does intensify the family’s anxieties about what it will take to make the dream come true.

Meanwhile, Ishwar returns to India with his daughter Aayushi Patel Veronica Kalpana-Gautam. He has become very successful in the United States, running a chain of motels and earning the moniker of the Motel King. His ambition is clear: invest in Gujarat and eventually return to his homeland to settle down. The reunion with Bachu is heartfelt, but old resentments simmer beneath the surface as Harish’s ambitions begin to clash with his father’s cautions.

To help Harish, his friend Raheel Abhinay Banker introduces him to a budding associate, Kaivan (who has renamed himself to Kevin) and to travel agent Daulatram Chainani Rakesh Bedi. Chainani promises to groom Harish for the visa and secure the path to the States, but the plan requires money, and Bachu’s older son Jignesh Jay Upadhyay steps in with a loan from questionable sources. The murky debt network begins to tighten its grip around the family, and the fear of being pulled back into illegal shortcuts looms large.

At a party arranged by Kevin Siddharth Amit Bhavsar, a warning surfaces: Kevin isn’t a reliable ally and has been using someone else’s sponsorship papers to reach the US. Aayushi warns Harish in a rare moment of doubt, but Harish remains optimistic, even as the shadows of illicit schemes encroach on their hopes. The revelation that Kevin’s sponsorship papers may be compromised deepens the sense that the dream may be built on precarious ground.

As tensions mount, a harsh truth emerges: Harish’s sponsorship papers were entangled in illegal schemes. Chainani admits that the plan depends on money and on playing with documents, and Harish’s path to the US becomes a high-stakes gamble. The family’s unity is tested as the danger of the racket becomes personal, and Bachu is forced to confront the consequences of past choices.

When a supposed route to the US appears—using a fake passport—Bachu and Harish reluctantly agree to take the risk. On the day of departure, Harish, his friends, and a looming sense of peril reach the airport. They are confronted by the very people tied to the debt that haunts Jignesh, leaving Harish to make a desperate bid for escape. He reaches the airport, and his parents bid him farewell with a mix of fear and hope.

Back home, Ishwar confronts Bachu about the hardships he endured as an illegal immigrant and the mistakes made in the pursuit of a dream. The exchange is a turning point: Bachu realizes the depth of his own misjudgments, and the two men rush toward the airport to stop Harish. But Harish, moved by the plight of an old lady, chooses not to board the flight and decides to stay with his parents, friends, and Aayushi [Veronica Kalpana-Gautam].

The moment of reckoning brings a quiet reconciliation: Bachu apologizes to Jignesh, and the family begins to heal. In the epilogue, Harish and Aayushi are married and looking ahead to a honeymoon, even as Harish remains determined to explore every possible path to the United States.
