In the 1980s, in the tight, sunlit lanes of Kammattippaadam, a young Krishnan [Dulquer Salmaan] begins his life as a curious primary school student who befriends Ganga [Vinayakan], a kid from a Dalit family. The two boys are pulled into a world where violence simmered just beneath the surface, a world in which Ganga’s brother Balan Chettan [Manikanda Achari] operates as a thug who runs alcohol, setting the stage for a hard-edged education in loyalty and risk. Krishnan’s heart also leans toward Anitha [Shaun Romy], a relative of Ganga, a love that complicates the fragile bond between the boys and intensifies the pressures around them. Over time, Krishnan, Ganga, Balan, Venu [Vinay Forrt], and others form a tight, volatile gang that works under the shadow of Surendran Aashaan [Anil Nedumangad], a local real estate conman whose ambitions push the crew toward bigger, dirtier schemes.

When a violent confrontation erupts, Krishnan accidentally takes a life—a police officer—while trying to rescue Ganga. The act lands him in prison, and upon his return to Kammattippaadam, he discovers that the gang has evolved into a more dangerous machine, smuggling alcohol under the same leadership of Surendran Aashaan. The landscape around them has changed, and the group’s enemies have grown more numerous and more determined. Among these new adversaries is Johnny [Shine Tom Chacko], a figure whose presence foreshadows even graver trouble for Krishnan and his friends. Meanwhile, Krishnan learns a painful truth: Ganga is in love with Anitha and intends to marry her, a realization that strains the already tense bonds within the gang and stirs questions about where true loyalty lies.

The gang’s expansion and its tactics begin to erode the communal trust of Kammattippaadam’s residents. They pressure locals to sell their homes at rock-bottom prices, triggering grief and anger that ripple through the community. Balan, now a changed man after the death of his grandfather, longs for a peaceful life. He reveals a dream: to leave crime behind and start a travel agency, to live with his wife Rosamma [Amalda Liz] and their children, away from the violence that once defined them. Yet a crucial moment arrives when Balan, Krishnan, and Rosamma head to a nearby medical shop, and the night’s conversations expose a deeper fault line—Balan’s insistence on a future with Anitha becomes a source of friction between him and Ganga.

A drunken detour in the car ends in tragedy: Balan dies after being struck by a truck. Ganga blames Krishnan for the accident, and this accusation fractures their once unbreakable bond. The aftermath deepens the rift as Krishnan moves toward establishing a separate life—launching a travel agency—while Ganga clings to the old ways of violence. In a later gathering at a bar, the gang learns that Johnny was the mastermind behind Balan’s murder, a revelation that heightens Krishnan’s sense of betrayed loyalties. In a moment of raw impulse, Krishnan and Ganga stab Johnny, a decision that lands them in serious trouble and on the run from the law. Krishnan’s bravery surfaces when he saves Ganga, but the chase culminates in his arrest, and, in a wrenching turn of fate, Ganga goes on to marry Anitha. Krishnan, with his wounds still open, relocates to Mumbai to escape the past.

Years pass. In Mumbai, Krishnan works as a bodyguard, slowly rebuilding a life away from the swamps and streets of his youth. A single call from Ganga reaches him across the distance, thrusting him back toward Kammattippaadam to find his old friend and the peril that surrounds him. Rosamma, now a steady voice of doubt, senses that Johnny may be involved in Ganga’s troubles, pushing Krishnan to pursue the truth. He sets out to find Johnny, who, crippled by the consequences of Ganga’s stabbing, feigns ignorance about Ganga’s whereabouts. The pursuit devolves into a brutal pursuit of a man who has become a symbol of the past Krishnan cannot escape. Johnny’s gang is dismantled by Krishnan’s relentless pursuit, but in the clash he is stabbed by Sunny, Johnny’s brother, leaving Krishnan on the brink of despair.

The search for answers leads to a devastating discovery: Ganga’s corpse has indeed been found. Krishnan seeks out Aashaan again, hoping for clarity, only to uncover a chilling truth. Aashaan, now a successful business entrepreneur, admits that he killed Ganga to satisfy his own demands for money and power. The revelation shatters Krishnan’s remaining certainties, and the only way forward becomes an act of final justice. Krishnan confronts Aashaan and, in a climactic twist of fate, pushes him out of a window of his swampside apartment, ending the cycle of violence with a decisive act of vengeance.

Throughout this sprawling, grounded epic, the story weaves the fragile threads of friendship, love, loyalty, and the consequences of choices made in a world where power, money, and fear constantly collide. The characters endure a relentless test—from the innocence of Krishnan’s early days to the hardened, solitary path he walks years later—never fully free from the past they helped create.
