A profound tale begins with a tense prologue, where an individual is being taken to a hospital, and a doctor later states that the patient’s condition will only be known after some time. The story then rewinds a few months to introduce Kathirvelan, often called Kathir, a devout Hindu from Madurai and a staunch follower of Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman), whose faith has kept him away from romantic pursuits since childhood. His unwavering devotion to Lord Maruti symbolizes his strong spiritual commitment, shaping his life and decisions.

One day, after visiting a Sri Anjaneya temple, Kathir encounters his elder sister, Vineethra, who is visibly upset outside their house. She has been disowned by her father for eloping with a mill owner, Shanmugham, from Coimbatore, against their family’s wishes. Refusing to abandon his sister, Kathir convinces his father to accept Vineethra back home. However, her strained relationship with Shanmugham and her subsequent departure complicate matters further. Kathir promises to uncover the root of this conflict and leaves for Coimbatore under the pretense of going to Salem for work related to his minibus business, but his real purpose is to help his sister.

In Coimbatore, Kathir successfully mediates between Vineethra and Shanmugham, leading her to return to her husband’s side. Despite this, Kathir finds himself captivated by Pavithra, a young woman working as a manager at a Panasonic showroom. His feelings deepen even as Vineethra warns him about her connection to Shanmugham, as her family and Shanmugham are sworn enemies. Ignoring these warnings, Kathir stays back in Coimbatore, determined to win Pavithra’s heart. He enlists the help of his college friend Mayilvaganam, a kind-hearted medical doctor, to approach Pavithra, but their initial attempt ends in embarrassment as a confrontation erupts, and Pavithra throws them out.

Pavithra soon confronts Kathir, threatening to involve the police due to his constant followings. Despite this rocky start, she learns about Kathir’s genuine effort to save her sister Vineethra’s marriage, which prompts her to forgive him and consider working with him as friends. However, she discloses that she is in love with a businessman named Gautham, which leaves Kathir heartbroken. To make matters worse, Gautham is revealed to be a womanizer planning to discard Pavithra after a one-night stand at a wedding in Ooty, causing Pavithra to realize his true nature. She promptly dumps him after an attempt to kiss her in his car, leading to a reconciliation with Kathir. During this period, Pavithra begins to develop feelings for him, and their mutual affection grows stronger, especially with the help of Mayil and Pavithra’s Malayali friend, who is also smitten with Mayil.

The obstacles escalate when Shanmugham and Pavithra’s father discover their love. To overcome this, Kathir and Pavithra devise a plan using a mimicry artist, Balaraman, to impersonate their fathers’ voices, leading to the eventual reconciliation of the family feud. This clever deception helps ease the enmity between the two fathers, rooted in a historical dispute involving Pavithra’s paternal family.

With family acceptance in view, Kathir and Mayil plan to seek approval from Kathir’s father, who has reconciled with his son and is now looking for a suitable bride. During this emotional moment, Mayil pretends to poison himself with laxatives to shield Kathir from his angry father, revealing his loyalty and friendship. This incident causes a temporary fallout, but Kathir ultimately manages to speak with his father about Pavithra. His father, initially furious, eventually softens, especially after Kathir vows to marry Pavithra only with his blessing. Moved by his son’s sincerity, he grants permission, and the couple prepares for their wedding.

The story concludes joyfully with Kathir and Pavithra tying the knot in a happy and harmonious celebration, symbolizing love, faith, and family reconciliation. The film wraps up with a reaffirmation of devotion and the enduring power of love that overcomes all barriers.
