On the 100th birthday of billionaire Ranjeet Dobriyal, a glittering party unfolds aboard a luxury cruise ship, where a tight circle gathers: his son Dev, his adopted son Shiraz, devoted bodyguard Batuk, the sharp-eyed CFO Maya, the efficient COO Bedi, and the ship’s captain Sameer, among other guests. When Ranjeet suddenly collapses from a heart attack on the eve of departure, the crew and family fear a stock-market shock that could ruin everything. To shield the family’s fortune from plummeting, Dev and the board hatch a quiet plan to keep the death under wraps. In a dramatic reveal, Ranjeet’s holographic will is activated by his loyal lawyer Lucy, declaring that the entire £69 billion estate goes to his son Jolly from a first marriage to Shakuntala Devi. The will adds bizarre clues about Jolly’s identity—he is left-handed, married to a foreigner, and bears a very distinctive scar on his butt—turning the inheritance into a tangled riddle.

The next morning, three men—Jalabuddin, Jalbushan, and Julius—arrive with their wives, Zara, Sasikala, and Kaanchi, each claiming to be Jolly and producing identical-looking proofs. With the future of the fortune at stake, a DNA test is deemed essential, and the results are promised for the following day. In the meantime, the ship erupts into a feverish, reckless celebration as guests let loose for a wild night. The mood shatters when the ship’s clown, Aakhri Pasta, tries to drug Batuk; a rogue mix-up with the communal punch inadvertently sedates the entire party, plunging the cruise into chaos.

At dawn, the three impostors wake in the wrong cabins with the wrong wives, and none can recall the night before. The tension spikes when the doctor assigned to administer the DNA test is found murdered, casting suspicion on everyone. Dev orders the three men and their “wives” confined to the ship’s jail as Interpol is summoned. While behind bars, the trio confesses that they are impostors and that the women are not their spouses; Julius is revealed to be a private detective hired by Ranjeet to locate the real Jolly, and Jalabuddin and Jalbushan misread the situation because they unknowingly hired each other’s girlfriends. The web of identity becomes personal: Kaanchi actually belongs to Jalabuddin, Zara to Jalbushan, and Sasikala to Julius.

As the plot thickens, the men exploit a momentary lapse to snatch keys and escape, while the women crawl through air vents to destroy DNA evidence. In the lab—now a makeshift morgue—the women witness Bedi moving furtively, rifling through the dead doctor’s pockets, erasing fingerprints, and slipping away. They secretly film him, convinced he is the killer. Meanwhile, the men lug Ranjeet’s body toward a safer hiding place, only for a wardrobe mishap to swap it with Bedi’s corpse, leaving everyone bewildered by the swapped bodies.

Two suspended London police officers, Baba and Bhiddu, arrive on the scene hoping to reclaim their careers by cracking the case. Their investigation yields clues pointing toward the real culprit, but the situation spirals when Sameer is murdered and Baba and Bhiddu are jailed for the crime. Their former boss, Interpol officer Daghdu, enters with a trove of investigation files for the suspects and promises to reveal the killer on the next day. That night, a masked intruder sneaks into Daghdu’s cabin to stab him, only to strike a dummy in a ruse. Daghdu and Julius spring their traps, ready to confront the mystery.

The film culminates in two alternate endings that reveal different killers and motives:

• Housefull 5A Ending: The masked attacker turns out to be Dev, who insists he is innocent. A second masked figure arrives, stabs Dev, and flees, exposing Dev’s orchestrated ruse. As Daghdu fights Dev, Julius and the others, along with Baba and Bhiddu (released from jail), pursue the second killer into the ship’s engine room, where Jalbushan is unmasked as the mastermind. Jalbushan and Dev had joined forces to execute the inheritance fraud, killing the doctor who spotted Dev swapping DNA samples, Bedi who uncovered the truth, and Sameer who witnessed the crime.

• Housefull 5B Ending: The same killer, Jalbushan, is caught, but the true mastermind is Maya, whose gambling debts fuel a scheme to siphon Ranjeet’s fortune. In the midst of the engine-room chaos, the real Jolly—Jalal—finally arrives, declaring he does not need his father’s billions because he already possesses a £169 million fortune of his own. He offers to share the vast inheritance with everyone present. The closing moments see Julius marrying Sasikala, Jalabuddin marrying Kaanchi, Dev and Maya and Jalbushan facing arrest, Zara marrying Jalal, and Baba and Bhiddu being reinstated as officers by Daghdu.

Across the ship’s glittering corridors and engine rooms, loyalties shift, alibis crack, and the line between ally and adversary blurs as the truth about Jolly’s inheritance, the impostors, and the identities of those around the helm comes to light. The story blends swaggering wealth, sharp schemes, and a high-stakes game of identity, keeping the passengers—and the audience—guessing until the very end. Dr. Shenayi [Guinness Pakru] plays a pivotal role in the DNA drama, anchoring the tension with his expertise even as the mystery spirals into a web of deceit, misdirection, and unexpected alliances. The cruise concludes with a reckoning that restores some order to the chaos, while leaving room for the possibility that fortune—and who truly controls it—can change hands in the most astonishing ways.
