Lambodhara is a petty trickster who makes a living through schemes and small lies. He orchestrates a ruse to admit himself to a hospital by feigning an abdominal issue, simply to secure free lodging, meals, and the care of the nurse he fancies, Saraswathi. The hospital setting gives him a chance to observe people and pull off another con, but the plan takes a sharp turn when he encounters a recent patient named Gauri who has died of heart failure.

From the moment he discovers Gauri’s belongings and then her diary, Lambodhara’s ambitions twist into something darker and more profitable. The diary reveals a troubling pattern: three men who had significant influence in her life, each with the potential to profit from her vulnerability. The first was a former boss who made an indecent proposal, the second a man who wanted to pretend they were married so he could fool his parents while financing her treatment, and the third a friend who believed he had slept with her during a drunken moment. The startling truth, as Lambodhara reads it, is that none of those encounters ever happened; Gauri’s affections never materialized into the physical reality she was rumored to have.

Seizing the opportunity, he crafts a clever plan to squeeze money from these men and their families. He writes letters to them, telling a lie that changes everything: Gauri has given birth to their son, and the child is named Ganesh. What follows is a sequence of comic misadventures that bubble into chaos, turning old deceptions into new complications. The plan itself becomes the centerpiece of the humor, as the three men—each with their own concerns and pride—navigate the eerie alignment of fate and deception.
