While waiting for her execution, the Princess learns of Daow Lakana Wattanawongsiri, a young woman in a nearby village who is her exact physical double. As flames begin to engulf her, the Princess sends her spirit to inhabit Daow, hoping to escape death by finding her double. But Daow is killed by a magical spell before the transfer can complete. The spirit then inhabits a deceased body that is partly Daow and partly a vengeful ghost. Daow leads a normal life by day, but at night a gnawing hunger overcomes her and drives her head to slip away from the body to feed on blood and entrails, unsettling the villagers with each passing night.
