In busy Bombay, a pair of roommates, Chitti Babu and his friend Pyarelal, go about life through the lens of Chitti Babu’s camera. He captures street scenes, people, and moments that others miss, but nothing prepares him for the moment he spots Raga Sudha at the airport and falls in love at first sight. A thief nicknamed Bombay snatches a gold chain from a jeweller and, in his escape, drops the chain into a bag that happens to land with Chitti Babu’s gypsy companion. That bag tucks away not only the chain but a photograph of the woman who has captured Chitti Babu’s heart.

As the chain tale unfolds, Chitti Babu adopts a new persona, disguising himself as a rich man in an effort to recover the bag for his beloved. He begins guiding Raga Sudha to various places to retrieve the bag, all while keeping it in his possession. She initially believes he’s helping her and she falls for him. Yet when she discovers that the bag remains with Chitti Babu and accuses him of deceit, the couple’s budding romance is put to the test. In attempting to soothe her worries and win her trust, Chitti Babu is hurt in an accident and ends up in hospital. The setback rekindles Raga Sudha’s feelings, reminding her of the sincerity behind his antics.

Meanwhile, Raga Sudha’s mother, Dhana Lakshmi, returns from abroad with a prospective groom in mind for her daughter. She learns of her daughter’s clandestine romance and, concerned about propriety, takes her back to Hyderabad and arranges a formal engagement. The protective mother’s plan creates a fresh obstacle, one that forces Chitti Babu to reveal himself in a way that goes beyond flirtation. In a surprising turn, Chitti Babu proves his loyalty by stepping in to protect Dhana Lakshmi from goons sent by her own manager, earning a place in the family and a chance to re-enter the situation with purpose.

Back in the picture, Chitti Babu is introduced to Dhana Lakshmi as J. D.—a powerful, capable guardian who has earned her trust. She employs him as the bodyguard for Raga Sudha, strengthening the bond between the lovers. The plot thickens when the manager abducts Raga Sudha during a risky bus journey toward Srisailam, threatening to derail their future. The truth about J. D.’s identity—revealed by Buchiki, Raga Sudha’s maternal uncle—shakes the foundation of the enemy’s plan. The villain’s cruel intent escalates as he tries to force a marriage by force aboard the moving bus, attempting to overpower Raga Sudha.

In the heat of the confrontation, Chitti Babu confronts the goons led by the villain, notably clashing with the menacing adversary portrayed by Banerjee. With courage and quick thinking, he defeats the threat, rescues Raga Sudha, and, with the blessings of Dhana Lakshmi, marries the woman who has shared his journey from serendipitous chance to steadfast devotion. The story closes on a note of renewed trust and enduring love, as two people who started with a city-scattered encounter choose to walk a shared path, supported by a family that has learned to understand their bond.

Throughout the film, the city’s bustle—airports, bustling streets, buses, and Hyderabad’s quieter lanes—frames a tale of love encountering obstacles, deception, and danger, only to emerge stronger through persistence, loyalty, and the willingness to stand up for one another.
